I compared four first base mitts before I settled on this one. In the interest of full disclosure, I am old and chubby. I wear an XL Mechanix brand glove for work and I like to fit as much of my hand into the mitt\glove as possible. The whole "just the fingers" thing doesn't work for me. I am also a die-hard Rawlings fan. I don't play competitively anymore (some former teammates will argue that I never actually did), but I do practice with the kids a couple of hours a week.Rawlings HOH PRODCTB - This mitt is absolutely gorgeous! I love the black\blonde colorway. It was my second favorite in fit and I nearly went with this one simply because of how darn good it looked. Could easily fit my ring and pinky in the pinky slot (ie: "finger shift"). i suspect, completely unscientifically, that the Rawlings will be more durable long term. I still wonder if I should have found a way to keep this one, too.Wilson A2000 1617 "SuperSkin" - I could not fit my hand in this glove far enough to feel comfortable using it, let alone being able to break it in. Interesting black, grey, and blonde colorway, but it went right back in the box to return. Not sure if I got an odd one (I only tried one) or if this mitt is just cut smaller than others.Wilson A2K 1617 - I really wanted to love this glove, as I got it for way cheaper than standard street pricing. It, too, fit a bit on the tight side, but I believed I could work with it. There was a small stitching issue in the the thumb strap that I felt would drive me nuts. For sure the stitching issue was a one-off on the one I tried. For full retail, though, this one was third on my list of potential keepers.Which brings me to this one, the Wilson A2000 2820 SuperSkin. It fit like Aso himself sneaked into my house one night and measured my hand while I was sleeping. I mean perfect. The solid black colorway is boring compared to the other choices on the market, but the fit makes up for it. Perfect for the finger shift. I'm two months in and still breaking it in; I'd say I'm 80% of the way there. It is my first Wilson mitt or glove, so my Rawlings-centric mind has me worried about durability. No direct evidence of an issue yet; just a feeling. Time will tell.
